It also provides a fine surface finish. Its anodizing response is good and can be done with commercially available methods. It has several characteristics such as a general resistance to corrosion, stress-corrosion cracking, workability (cold), machinability, gas and arc welding, and resistance spot and seem-welding. However, it is not good in resisting the laying services.

This aluminum alloy exhibits good ductility, great toughness, and excellent fatigue resistance. It has a better corrosion resistance than the other alloys and is commonly used for stressed structural applications.
